If Mrs. Palin was not on the ticket, I would most likely have been casting my vote for Mr. McCain. How long are military families stationed at one place?
Q. There is a government defence house next door and a new family moved in a month ago. They have a large dog that barks and growls at everything throughout the day. We don't want to cause any trouble by complaining about their dog though, so hopefully we'll just bear it until they move out. We're in Canberra btw. Does anyone know?

A. Well Raynelley, I think you should probably not get a chihuahua, cuz they are sooo hyper, I should know!! I would go for a medium size dog, beagles are cute. But any dog is alot of trouble in an apartment, I would get a cat. Hey!!! I know where you can get 1...or 2!! :) oh yeah...what a jerky thing that idiot said to you about your husband!! What the hell does he know??? Where would he be right now without guys like your man??? jeez, the nerve of some people!!! bad bad bad

A. Actually, republicans never think about the consequences of their actions. They just go ahead and do whatever they think is good at the time, and 9 times out of 10 they were wrong after wards. .

A. For me their is nothing like a good hour of prayer and crying my heart out to God. I pay for the troops, their families and our President. I pray for the peace of America and the Peace of the families who have lost so much in courage and bravery. I stay busy and focused with keeping things at home running smoothly. I try to be uplifting and positive about things when I am talking to my Husband. I get involved in my Church a lot because they help me pray and feel some of the pain and help take the load from my shoulders. Also I realize I am no going through half of what my soldier is so I try to remember that being positive is the LEAST that I can do.

A. I don't know of anything that the military doesn't cover health wise. Everything I've ever had done, from having babies to a number of surgeries, the military has paid for. And if the Military Hospital doesn't have the facilities to take care of whatever problem you have, they will either send you to another military hospital or a civilian hospital that can accommodate your needs. I've known people that have had cancer, premature babies that needed extended care in ICU at civilian hospitals, eye surgery...ETC...And it's always been covered. They prefer for us to go to a military facility, but in many cases it's not possible, so they send us elsewhere. I think the military deserves a lot more pay for their risky jobs, but I have to say that… [cont.]

Is there a lot of domestic violence in military families?
Q. I mean, if you're say sent to Iraq and your mission is to be a macho man with weapons, and you're trained to kill and destroy, wouldn't some of that just naturally flow into your home life when your mission's over?

A. In the US 1 in 3 women will experience some form of domestic violence in their lifetime. While the majority of men and women in the military are amazing people who serve our country and love their families, domestic violence does exist in the military. Until the end of the 1990s each branch did relatively little to combat domestic violence among their troops. In the past 10 years the military has made really great progress in facing domestic violence and taking an active stand against it. That being said, statistically there tends to be a higher rate of domestic violence among military families than among the general population. Pentagon records from 1992 through 1996 and found that 50,000 military spouses were victims of domestic… [cont.]
