What education and training is needed to be a professional golf player?
Q. I am doing a career report and I want to be a golf player for the LPGA. What education is training needed to pursue this career? How many years of education, college you could attend and what type of degree do you earn? Also, what are average salaries? Thanks so much!!
Asked by Cindy~ - Tue May 13 18:03:55 2008 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Being a "Golf Professional" isn't necessarily the same as being a "Professional Golfer". Golf Pros generally work within the golf industry as instructors, Golf Course Managers/Director's of Golf etc. Professional Golfers play the game to make a living. To become a Golf Pro you need at the least to have a diploma in golf management from a community college. These courses teach everything from course maintenance to club repairs to running local tournaments to managing a golf course. To be a Professional Golfer you need the skill to play the game at it's highest level.

What is the best education model for a child today and where can I find it in the world?
Q. There are several options for a child's education in today's world. There are variations in curriculum, teaching methodologies, cultural values, goals of education. There are novel options available today such as unschooling and home schooling that were not as common earlier. What then is an ideal educational system for a child from school through undergraduate and graduation? Where is the best education system available in the world for each of these levels?

A. Globally Denmark is considered to have the best public education system. It spends the most on education per member of the population. If you visit the websites of Danish schools you get a strong feeling of an ordered and caring system. Other Scandinavian countries also have a good reputation especially Finland. As far as methodologies go, there are supporters and detractors for every system, so you cannot really compare.

What is the education requirement difference between a neuropsychologist and psychologist?
Q. I was wondering, what is the difference between the education needed to become a neuropsychologist vs. a psychologist? I know there is obviously a difference, and I'd lie to know how much more education one needs to be a neuropsychologist. Are there more science-based classes that need to be taken? I want to be a neuropsychologist, but I don't know how much more I would have to do in school. If it's as much as a doctor, then I definately won't. Thanks so much.
Asked by SC - Tue Nov 6 17:25:11 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The training is different. You want to find a school that has a neuropsychology specialization and ensure that you take classes on physiological psychology, neuroanatomy, neuropsychological testing, and psychopharmacology.. You should also obtain a predoctoral internship in neuropsychology that is APA or CPA accredited. After you graduate, you will need a postdoctoral neuropsychology residency or fellowship. A. I am a sophomore and currently taking two courses related to my major (middle grades edu) So far they have been helpful. One is about diversity in the classroom, which will be helpful because America is a melting pot and there will be kids from all types of cultures and ethnicity's in my class in the future and this is preparing me to deal with them. and the other is about teacher etiquette. Of course that will be helpful for obvious reasons, there are a million things that are inappropriate to do or say around children, somethings that you would not even think. So in conclusion these courses are great.

Q. I teach driver education and I want to know if you had a favorite part of driver education. Do you remember anything in particular that you really liked, or really disliked? If you was teaching driver education, what would you do to keep the students attention?

A. Well I am 16 and just recently got my lisence. My favorite part of driver's ed, was when our teacher brought in beer goggles. He made us wear them and do different tasks such as walking a straight line, catching a tennis ball, pouring water into a cup, etc. It was really fun and interesting, yet still got the point across of how drinking will affect driving.

How does an education background check work?
Q. I am up for a position and they are in the process of running different background checks on me. The one that concerns me is the education background check. I am exactly one class shy of earning the BS degree that I claimed on my CV. I walked during graduation and everything, but I never got the *incomplete* for that class cleared up and, hence, never completely fulfilled my graduation requirements. In an education background check, do companies verify that you have the degree or just that you attended the university during the dates you claimed? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Asked by mike_h - Mon Jun 30 16:53:06 2008 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments

A. An education verification typically will verify the highest level of degree obtained. If you did not actually graduate, then it will be reported as such. Many colleges and universities have chosen to outsource their verifications to a third party, so the background screening company usually does not even talk to the school to find any additional information. I would suggest clearing this up. As a follow up, there are fewer companies that verify education backgrounds then criminal backgrounds.

What education do I need to become an Apartment Manager?
Q. My Father is looking into buying about 15-20 apartments. He would like for me to get an education in order to become a large part of running the complex. I don't really want to teach group yoga or something. I want to help people on an individual level as a personal fitness trainer. What education does it require and where would I be eligible to work? A. The other answerers are incorrect. It's a specialty of nursing. You don't go through radiology school. "The larger medical centers may employ a radiological nurse who provides for the physical, mental, and emotional needs of the patient who is undergoing tests or treatment in a radiology department. The radiological nurse usually develops and manages a care plan to help patients understand procedures and, later, recuperate from the procedures. This may also include working with a patient's family. The nurse can perform examinations or carry out preventive health measures within the prescribed guidelines and instructions of the radiologist. In addition, the nurse can record physician findings and discuss cases with either the radiologist… [cont.]

A. Simple- open up an account. You pay for each trade that you make too. Well, you have to pay in general. Scottrade or Ameritrade are servers that offer stock trading. You need money though to buy stocks, sell them, and short them (for me the MOST important and MOST difficult). Don't need a certificate. Go do it on your own, business school teaches you this stuff but I saw from my dad that he learned it on his own completely. Go to investopedia.com to learn about the vocabulary. For college, they don't teach you ONLY this stuff. You have to take a lot of other courses so you can't exactly focus on just stocks. Mutual funds and bonds are involved too. All of this is called "investing" lol. Stock brokers might let you intern with… [cont.]

What is the best way to overhaul the education system?
Q. In a world where technology has created a fast paced global world, we seem to have forgotten to bring the education system up to date. We are teaching 21st century generations, with a 19th/20th century system. I pose we create a whole new state of the art 21st century system to teach on a global nature. Teaching all cultures and language, the business world is now global so should the education be. I strongly believe if we teach culture, it will also bring world peace. As it will be teaching understanding, tolorance, and communication. If we want to give our kids half a chance as well as keep our country strong, we have to build a strong foundation, the way you do that is create a state of the art education system, to educate the next… [cont.]

Is our education system failing the country or are the people simply failing themselves?
Q. Go spend a day in the life of a teacher. There is very little funding and support. They can bring the education to the student, but the individual moral and personal beliefs will dictate what they do with the information. We have legislated the teachers ability to influences personal belief out of the class room, so who is to blame for the failure of education?
Asked by YourLaHire - Mon Jun 29 12:02:47 2009 - - 18 Answers - 0 Comments

A. People send their kids off glad to get rid of them for the day expecting teachers to just saw off the top of their heads and program their brains magically. They don't want to work for their education, they want it handed down like the rest of the free stuff that they get. Teachers are not allowed to hold students back a grade anymore (or at least it takes an act of congress or something.) because it makes the school look bad. They cannot reward the better performing students. We have to keep the violent and disruptive kids in school because it is their "right" to an education. I say: flush public education. Cut the school taxes (probably have to cut some other things in there too, but work it out people) so that people can pay… [cont.]

What education would I need to work in the Psychological Department of a Hospital?
Q. I'm interested in going into this department. What high school and college education would I need in order to get a good well paying job in that department?
Asked by Richard S - Wed Sep 10 20:28:10 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. To get a job that pays well in the psychology department of a hospital, you would likely need an M.D. (work as a psychiatrist). You could work with patients as a master's level therapist, but they do not make much money at the job ( don't count on more than 35k-40k, and even that could be pushing it). With a bachelor's degree in psychology, you could work in the department as a psych tech, but your pay would scarcely rival that of working at your local McDonald's (sad, but true). ~M~

How much education required for journalism?
Q. I'm not planning to become a journalist this is just for Boy Scouts. How much education is required to become a full-time journalist? Do you just need an associate's degree?
Asked by Drew G - Thu Oct 4 19:28:23 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. It's not like being a doctor or lawyer- you don't need a specific amount of education to be a journalist. More likely what they are looking for is experience. You get experience working at your school paper, your college newspaper, your small-town paper, etc. then you can move your way up. That said, a master's in journalism from a top school is also a good way to get a good start in journalism. However, there is no set requirement for education to be a journalist. If you were a high school drop-out, that might raise some eyebrows and you would probably have to show that you are really smart and can write great articles. But, experience is the key.

How much education and experience do you need to become a paralegal?
Q. I am working towards a liberal arts 2 year basic degree. By the end, I would have taken 4 paralegal/law classes. I have an internship this summer also. Would I be able to get hired with my education and experience. I know they look for people with a 4 year in that field, but I still have a chance right?
Asked by Lynn - Wed Jan 14 22:29:36 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Sorry...but no. You need either years of law office experience or at least a 2 year degree (in paralegal studies) AND 1-2 years of law office experience. Just look at local postings for paralegal positions and see what requirements firms in your area are asking for. You may be surprised by how difficult it is to find a paralegal job without at least 3 years of paralegal experience.

Q. I found a position I want to apply for and the requirements include 18 hours of coursework (graduate level) in Computer Science. How much education would this be? I have an Associate Degree in Computer Science so how much longer would it take me to obtain the 18 hours graduate level?
Asked by dmccallum_35111 - Mon Mar 23 09:40:39 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. 18 credit hours is equal to six courses, which will take at least two semesters to complete (9 hours / semester is full time for grad school). However, to take any grad school course you must first have completed a bachelor's degree. Specifically in your case you must also first be accepted to a computer science grad school program just to enroll to take those courses. This means you need to have a good GPA (3.0 minimum). Therefore, without a bachelor's degree you will need at least two more years of full time study just to get one, and possibly more, if not all your credits are accepted into a bachelor's program. Then at least one year for grad school. So, 3 years full time studies minimum. However, you will probably want to… [cont.]
